Your Support is Still Needed!
Amongst other benefits, with your lifetime membership you gain access to special pricing and early access for events, exclusive access to our video archive, and the ability to email fellow alumni through our Directory portal. You must also be a dues-paying member in order to vote in our annual Board Election. All Lifetime Members will have their name displayed on our Virtual Lifetime Member Wall. If you would like your name to be displayed in a specific way or would prefer to remain anonymous, please let us know in the Comments section or email us at alumni@shsaa.org.
Below is a letter from SHSAA Director Bart Schwartz '64 explaining why he is still participating as an existing lifetime member:
Dear Fellow Lifetime Member,
The Stuyvesant High School Alumni Association has embarked on a program to enlist new lifetime members who contribute $1000 or more to the Association. You may not be aware of this because you are already a lifetime member. I’m one too. But these are difficult times for the students, the school and the City. So, I’m joining again! And I hope you will too. How often do you get the chance for a second lifetime?
The Stuyvesant High School Alumni Association is a membership-based non-profit organization. Your participation and membership dues are vital to our missions of supporting Stuyvesant, current students, and our fellow alumni. Our group of lifetime donors has always been the bedrock of support that the Association has been built on. In this trying time, we would ask this bedrock to step up once again. We represent graduates who have a special relationship and connection to the Stuyvesant community and now we need your help.
There are perks, but I recognize that is not what drives you. It is memories, appreciation, caring about the current generations and more. So please join with me and donate at least $1000.
Oh yes, the perks – For a limited time, we will send all new and existing Lifetime members a limited edition Stuyvesant tote bag and the centennial book, Stuyvesant High School: The First Hundred Years! And if you join again before Wednesday, November 18, your name and class year will be printed in our year-end newsletter and displayed on our website with a special designation as a double lifetime member. We will also be sending our double lifetime members some additional merchandise from our school store.
