Join Us in Honoring Peter Brooks!
Peter Brooks was a beloved and dedicated Computer Science teacher at Stuyvesant High School whose creativity, warmth, and unwavering commitment to his students left a lasting mark on the school community. He was known for inspiring students to think critically about the impact of technology on society and encouraging them to use their skills for the greater good.
To honor his memory and legacy, Peter’s wife, Deborah Pope, has established The Peter Brooks Computer Science for Social Good Prize. This annual scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior at Stuyvesant who demonstrates financial need, academic excellence in Computer Science, and a strong commitment to using technology to make a positive social impact.
Administered by the Stuyvesant High School Alumni Association in collaboration with the Computer Science Department, this prize supports students who embody Peter’s values—intellectual curiosity, compassion, and a sense of responsibility to their communities.
